Jim Goldberg, Coming and going:
Jim creates an autobiography through his unique photo book. He experiments with areas such as, collage, reconstructing the images and also using his own personal annotations of the images. I want to create a book with a similar context, however mine will be done with less digital photoshop and more scanning in collages to print and stick into my photo album. i feel this is a unique way to showcase my work, and by doing this it becomes more personal to me. With the examples above i will be using ideas form them and many other pages from his book. For example, the shopping list and the fridge, i will use an old shopping lost from home and scan it onto a photo of food or a meal at my home. i will also be scanning in old family photos, which will show the change in time from when the original photo was taken. I also have a Polaroid camera and can also mess around with they and see how they would look with different placements on the page. I will be creating this book during the 15 hour exam.
I also enjoy photos like this, as it adds a bit of a break from the more unique pages. i will be choosing my favourite images to take up a full page. I will mainly be working with a self adhesive book rather than a printed photo book. This also means that i can change around my images if i feel they would look better in a different place.
